2013 BUICK ENCORE

GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES

2013 Buick Encore

Did you know that Buick is currently the oldest active American automotive maker? For over 100 years Buick has had to stand the test of time, and like all of us, it has had to re-invent itself. It’s become younger, hipper, and more stylish- a bit like me and my friends…

Buick Encore 2013 Front SeatRecently I had the opportunity to test drive the 2013 and 2014 Buick Encore and what a treat it was! Buick has reinvented itself (it’s no longer the car your grandparents drove) and has emerged as a true premium brand that delivers modern luxury. But the real story is that the Encore is unlike any vehicle on the market right now. There’s nothing out there that is this small that mixes so much luxury into a fun-to-drive, economical, affordable, and stylish package- isn’t that what we’re all looking to be…?

Ideal for empty nesters like myself, or those young professionals looking for style and luxury without breaking the bank, the Encore is primarily built for two, though there’s room for up to three grandkids in the back seat, and all their gear in the substantial cargo capacity. Ask Doc Harness Photo

I also took my yellow lab with me one day and found that he enjoyed the space and the view from the rear seats.

The upscale interior is very impressive indeed! Attractively designed and built with premium materials, the seats are very comfortable (firm) and spacious. With good gas mileage 25/33mpg city/highway, smooth handling, and a comfortable and quiet ride, Buick has hit the mark with this small gem of a vehicle.

Buick Encore - Cargo 2013Loaded with luxury amenities, the new 2013 Encore crossover delivers Buick’s signature style, interior acoustic refinement, and luxurious extras. All Encores come with a backup camera, six-speaker stereo with Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system, which includes a 7 inch color display, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, satellite radio and a USB port and 18†wheels. Let’s top that off with an Insurance Institute of Highway Safety “2013 Top Safety Pick†designation, and you have an unbeatable combination. That’s pretty impressive for the price point, MSRP of $26,710.

2013_buick_encore_angularfrontI drove the FWD Leather Package which is $2,510 over the standard model, but it’s certainly worth it. Besides adding the Convenience Pack, it tacks on luxuries like a heated steering wheel, heated leather seats, a power passenger seat, and a memory function on the driver’s seat. If you live in colder climates, you definitely want the Leather Package and I need the memory function at times.

For those who no longer need a “Shuttle Mobile,†and want to enjoy yourselves in style and comfort, the 2013 Buick Encore is for you.Christening - Caldero - Wedding 019
