While living in San Diego, the most anticipated event every couple months was a visit from my parents. Of course, we looked forward to going to the beach, visiting the famous San Diego zoo, driving to La Jolla Cove, eating at award-winning restaurants at the Gaslamp, and spending every waking moment outside in the 70-degree weather, but visits from my parents surpass all San Diego has to offer. Wink, wink. Nissan Quest Ext.As a huge fan and hopeful future owner of a minivan, I was especially anticipating their recent visit because they were bringing with them the 2014 Nissan Quest 3.5 LE. I am always eager to test drive a minivan for my research, and this Quest took a solid spot on my Top Ten List: Top Ten Vehicles to Solidify I am Getting Old but Still Hip (the fact that hip is in the title makes me feel older) seaworldI made sure to plan a ton of long-distance activities during my parents visit so we could spend as much time as possible in the 2014 Nissan Quest. I think our trip to SeaWorld definitely assured the Quest’s slot on the Top Ten list. I thought we had too much in our hands packing up for our day with Shamu, but, of course, we came out at the end of the day with twice as much, including a giant, stuffed dolphin that my dad won swooshing a basketball in the hoop. shamuWhatever the amount of cargo we had, the one-touch power sliding doors and liftgate allowed me to effortlessly press the button on the door to automatically open up everything. It made it so easy to pack the Quest. We were also able to fold down the third row to make even more room for our friend, the dolphin. We didn’t even have that much room in our San Diego home. Thanks, Dad. [su_pullquote class=”pullquote”]There are several other reasons why I want to own a minivan in my lifetime, and the 2014 Nissan Quest checks off a lot of the boxes.[/su_pullquote]

There are several other reasons why I want to own a minivan in my lifetime, and the 2014 Nissan Quest checks off a lot of the boxes. As an active wife and mother, I love the idea of comfort, convenience and safety in my vehicle. The Quest offers just this, along with power and luxury. Driving around San Diego as much as we did that weekend, my 3-year-old son was able to take his naps due to the sunshade in the second row keeping the glare from the sun out, the 2nd and 3rd row climate controls and the DVD entertainment system – Finding Nemo tends to put him to sleep. I have seen it about 176 times.

Nissan Quest Int. The Quest also offers convenience through the around view monitor, blind spot warning system and navigation system. Unlike what most vehicles have which is the camera in the back of the car, the 2014 Nissan Quest 3.5 LE has the around view monitor – this allows you to see a bird’s eye view of the Quest so you can see what surrounds the car – this was helpful when parallel parking in downtown San Diego for dinner. The safety features of the Quest also made it enjoyable to drive around town. I swear we spent more time in the car than we did at our favorite San Diego sites, so it was reassuring to know the Quest has an advanced air bag system with roof-mounted, side-impact airbags. Nissan Quest Int Dash By saving it for the end, I am not saying that power is the last feature on my Top Ten list. The 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 engine in the 2014 Nissan Quest got us to where we wanted to go, and we had plenty of places to go. The smooth ride in the Quest did not lack power which may be a negative stereotype about the minivan. I definitely want a minivan to fit my lifestyle – I may be getting older, but I am not slowing down, so I do not want a minivan that is sluggish.  [su_pullquote align=”right” class=”pullquote”]The 2014 Nissan Quest 3.5 LE has the around view monitor – this allows you to see a bird’s eye view of the Quest so you can see what surrounds the car[/su_pullquote]

Since we are no longer living in San Diego, I do not have to eagerly wait for the next visit from my parents – they can literally walk to our house now in Arizona. However, I do impatiently anticipate the next time my parents will visit me in the 2014 Nissan Quest 3.5 LE. The $42,870 starting MSRP and 19/25 city/highway mpg come close to San Diego’s weather, the famous zoo, beaches and amusement parks and constant outside enjoyment. Being that it is summer in Arizona, the Quest would bring back a lot of the joys of San Diego and visits from my parents. San Diego June 076San Diego June 113
